A lease for St Luke's—NCC agree a transfer to Duston Parish Council
After 4 years of trying to acquire the St Luke’s school site at last it has now happened with the agreement, on 14 December, to grant the Parish a 99 year lease.
This is great news and a tribute to the many people who have kept faith with the project and worked hard to achieve it.
Now the real work starts. Without the support of the Parish Council and residents of Duston this project would have failed many years ago. This support is even more vital now.
The refurbishment of the buildings, the restoration of the field and the promotion of the site for prospective users are all priorities.
We will keep you regularly updated on the progress of the project and how you can help.
At present a Community Interest Company is being set up to run the Centre on behalf of the Parish Council. This will be a non profit making organisation with a membership scheme.
